Stainless steel eye bolts are used safely by aligning them with the load, using washers for a tight fit, and keeping load angles within rated limits. Specifically:
- Align the eye bolt with the sling to avoid bending.
- Use washers for a tight fit, and ensure most of the threads are engaged.
- Attach one sling leg per eye bolt.
- Clean the hole and threads before use.
- Tighten the eye bolt properly, with enough depth engaged for screw types.
- For lifting at a 90° angle, use regular eye bolts; avoid exceeding 45° for horizontal lifts.
